"Across the Water" can now be heard on KUTX 98.9 FM - Sundays 6-8 pm

After co-hosting Folk music shows on KUT-FM for 40 years, Ed now has his own show on Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 pm (central time) on KUTX-FM 98.9.

The weekly program, "Across the Water," will largely focus on the music of Scotland, Ireland and England, along with occasional visits to other Celtic areas of Europe, but will also stress connections with "Celtic" music in North America and its influence on American genres. You can look forward to hearing a wide range of music from traditional source singers to contemporary bands, with most programs following particular topical or whimsical themes.

As Ed is a long-time performer himself, he knows many of the artists personally. He also has an academic background as a folklorist, so listeners can count on a personal, entertaining and knowledgeable commentary.

As with other KUTX music shows, the program can be heard on the web at KUTX.org. On Sundays when Ed is in Austin, the show will be live, otherwise it will be pre-recorded.

Ed also hosts "Sunday Folkways" on alternate Sunday afternoons from 4 - 6 pm, central time. This is an eclectic, largely American folk music show.
